Pets are just not animals, they are considered members of the family. A lot of dog owners treat their dogs just as good as they treat their children or their friends. They eat, sleep and travel with their pets. If you travel with a tail wagging companion, follow these tips.

1) Don’t allow your dog to hang out the window: Most people smile at the cute dog sticking his head out of the window with his ears flapping in the wind, but this is not safe. Some dogs get excited and jump out of the window while the vehicle is in motion. And if another car or obstacle comes to close to your car, it could side swipe and injury your animal. Bugs, rocks and other road objects can harm your dog’s vision, if it gets in the animal’s eyes.

Not long ago, Heather Hopson hosted a television show in the Cayman Islands. Today, she's back home writing a different kind of story as a new mom.
