Cars double as offices for thousands of American workers. But how can you create a mobile office that’s both safe and effective? Here are tips for employees and employers who must stay in constant contact and must keep their devices fully charged at all times.

Power Up: Many cars now come equipped with a household plug outlet or a USB port. You can charge your tablet, telephone and laptop. Check the wattage to ensure it works with your device. You may need to purchase am adapter, like a three-prong plug outlet, or a power inverter to run all your gadgets. You may want to invest in a higher-powered battery.

Connect to the Internet: New cars are now equipped with WIFI hotspots. If your car does not have this feature, you can purchase a signal booster or connect to the Internet with your cell phone’s personal hotspot.

Not long ago, Heather Hopson hosted a television show in the Cayman Islands. Today, she's back home writing a different kind of story as a new mom. During her 10-month-stint as a stay-at-home mom, Caitlynn inspired her to create this blog, and Diary of a First Time Mom was born on Mother’s Day 2012. Two years later, she expanded the family to include 20+ writers. Currently, Heather serves as the communications director at Allies for Children.
