Diary of a First Time Mom is proud to partner with Little Remedies® as a Mom Blogger Ambassador. Although I receive some form of compensation for the collaboration, all opinions expressed about the products are my own. Back in November, I joined a movement of moms and dads and took the Little Remedies® Say Yes to Less Pledge. Some people pledged to say yes to less sugar, less distractions, less waste and less negativity in their lives. I vowed to say yes to less stress and less spending and more imaginative play. I know, it’s a mouthful! At the time, I worried whether or not I would have enough money to put enough gifts under the Christmas tree. I stressed over the messes being made by my daughter–she could wreck a room faster than I could grab a broom. I also agonized about my health and a pending surgery. My forehead wrinkled, and my hair grayed. All the while, my little girl skipped merrily along without a worry in the world. Her positive attitude motivated me to follow through on my pledge. I set a budget and bought only what I could afford. I cleaned our house one room at a time. I took my vitamins and followed my doctor’s orders. And instead of sitting in the house, fearing the future, we celebrated the present and headed to the children’s museum, where she taught me three important lesson about how not to stress out as a new mom. Although everyone gets stressed from time to time, I now focus on the silver lining of the cloud or the rainbow after the storm. It’s a bit cliché, but this less is more mentality brings about hope and happiness. We’re not the only family pledging to Say Yes to Less. Check out this story from the Applegate’s. Speaking of saying less, as a first time mom, I like less ingredients in the medicine administered to my daughter, which is why my cabinets are stocked with the Little Remedies® line. The products contain only what is needed to make your child feel better – that means no saccharin, alcohol, artificial flavors, artificial coloring or dyes. And for days like today when the winds are whipping and the snow is falling, I make sure I have a bottle of Little Remedies® Soothing Syrup on hand. It calms fiery throats and supports the immune system with ederberry. You too can stock up on products that will make your little one feel better by entering the Diary of a First Time Mom giveaway. I know my kids get their fair share of sweets and salty snacks from grandparents and family but in my house and under my watch, I gotta keep it to a bare minimum. – especially, when I know they’re getting from others. In have noticed a huge difference in my son’s behavior when I switched from juice to milk in his lunch. It’s the small things but they make a difference. As far as the stress… I’m working on allowing myself some “me” time. Reply disqus_nF2Xpl7xCC March 6, 2014 Lots of deep breaths. Taking a few moments to breathe calms me down and allows me to focus on the situation in front of me.
